ABOUT US
Creative Options is a Day Support program of the Hampton Newport News Community Service Board. Creative Options is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Creative Options provides support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This service includes a variety of training, support and supervision offered in a setting which allows peer interactions and an opportunity for community and social integration.
Creative Options utilizes person-centeredplanning to identify the supports eachindividual needs to achieve their desired outcomes. Based on the Individual Support Plan, individuals may participate in a wide varietyof activities at the site as wellas in thecommunity. Community activities may include visits tolocal stores, restaurants, recreational activities, museums and other places of individual interests. Creative Options has established volunteer relations withmany agencies enabling our individuals togive back to our community. Volunteer activities may include delivery/pick up, mailings, packaging, cleaning, visiting community neighbors, light grounds keeping& beautification - the list continues to grow.
Day Support Services are provided primarily in non-residential settings, separate from the home or other community residence, to enable an individual to acquire, improve and maintain maximum functional abilities while supportingeach individual’s interests and needs.
Supported Employment
Creative Options provides on the job training for three work crews providing housekeeping services in residential facilities. Individuals receiving this service are paid for the work they perform in accordance with the Department of Labor, under a special minimum wage certificate.

It is the goal of Creative Options to provide optimal quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities through staff support, individualized outcomes and utilization of various community resources.
Creative Options is funded primarily through Medicaid Waiver funds and private pay.
